The Best Seller is Nature Solar Global Limited. He is also the accredited distributor in Nigeria, supplying 100% genuine Felicity Solar lithium batteries, hybrid inverters, and high-wattage solar panels directly from Alaba International Market, Lagos.
With frequent national grid failures and rising electricity tariffs across Nigeria, switching to a solar power backup system is a wise financial move. Among the various energy storage options available, the Felicity 5kWh 48V/24V LiFePO4 battery is one of the most popular choices for homes, apartments, and small offices. Before investing your hard-earned money, a vital question you must ask is: “How Long Will a Felicity 5kWh Lithium Battery Last?”
Understanding whether “How Long Will a Felicity 5kWh Lithium Battery Last?” applies to daily hour-by-hour backup runtime or total service life (years) helps you plan your home load efficiently. A 5kWh (5,000 watt-hour) lithium battery provides high depth of discharge (DoD) efficiency, rapid charging, and long cycle stability when configured with a compatible hybrid solar inverter.
“How Long Will a Felicity 5kWh Lithium Battery Last?”
When addressing daily backup runtime, a Felicity 5kWh battery offers roughly 4,500Wh to 4,750Wh of usable power at 90% to 95% Depth of Discharge (DoD). How many hours it will run depends strictly on the total power consumption (wattage) of the appliances running on your inverter.
Here is a breakdown of realistic backup runtimes based on various load profiles in a typical Nigerian home:
- Light Load (~300W): (LED TV, decoder, Wi-Fi router, 10 LED bulbs, 3 standing fans)
- Runtime: Approximately 14 to 15 hours of continuous backup power.
- Medium Load (~600W): (Light load + 1 energy-efficient inverter refrigerator or freezer)
- Runtime: Approximately 7 to 8 hours.
- Heavy Load (~1,200W): (Medium load + 1HP inverter air conditioner or 0.5HP water pumping machine running intermittently)
- Runtime: Approximately 3.5 to 4 hours.
- Maximum Load (~2,500W): (Multiple air conditioners, freezers, and heavy pumping machines)
- Runtime: Approximately 1.5 to 1.8 hours.
How Many Years Will a Felicity 5kWh Lithium Battery Last?
In terms of overall lifespan, Felicity Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries are built to last 10 to 15 years under standard operating conditions.
Unlike traditional lead-acid or gel batteries that fail after 1 to 3 years (300 to 500 cycles), the Felicity 5kWh lithium battery features an advanced Battery Management System (BMS) rated for 6,000+ deep discharge cycles at 80% DoD. Even if you cycle the battery completely once every day, 6,000 cycles translate to more than 16 years of daily usage before the capacity naturally degrades to 80% of its original rating.
What Is the Current Price of a Felicity 5kWh Lithium Battery in Nigeria?
Prices in Nigeria vary across markets depending on exchange rates, shipping tariffs, and voltage versions (24V vs 48V). Buying directly from an authorized importer at Alaba International Market ensures you get wholesale prices and genuine factory warranties.
- Felicity 5kWh 24V Lithium Battery: ₦990,000 – ₦1,400,000
- Felicity 5kWh 48V (51.2V 100Ah) Lithium Battery: ₦1,050,000 – ₦1,650,000
- Complete 5kWh Solar Setup (5kWh Lithium Battery + 3.5KVA/5KVA Inverter + Solar Panels): ₦2,200,000 – ₦3,500,000 depending on panel capacity and installation accessories.
How to Maximize the Lifespan and Runtime of Your Felicity 5kWh Battery
To ensure that “How Long Will a Felicity 5kWh Lithium Battery Last?” reaches its maximum 15-year service potential, adhere to these simple maintenance and installation guidelines:
- Avoid Overloading Beyond Inverter Ratings: While the battery can handle high surges, keeping continuous loads under 2,500W reduces thermal stress on cells.
- Enable Inverter-to-BMS Communication: Connect the RS485 or CAN communication cable between your inverter and the battery so the inverter respects BMS charging limits.
- Keep the Installation Environment Cool: Install the wall-mount or floor-standing battery unit in a well-ventilated, shaded space to prevent excessive heat accumulation during charging.
- Use Proper DC Cable Sizes: Use thick, flexible pure copper battery cables (35mm² or 50mm²) to avoid voltage drops and overheating at connection terminals.

10 Frequently Asked Questions (Google Nigeria Search Data)
1. Can a Felicity 5kWh lithium battery power a 1.5HP air conditioner?
Yes. It can run a 1.5HP inverter air conditioner, but because a 1.5HP AC draws roughly 1,000W to 1,200W, a fully charged 5kWh battery will power it for about 3.5 to 4 hours if no other heavy appliances are running.
2. How many hours does it take to fully charge a Felicity 5kWh lithium battery?
With adequate solar radiation and a 50A–100A charger, a 5kWh Felicity lithium battery charges fully in about 2 to 3 hours from solar panels or grid/generator power.
3. Can I use a 3.5KVA inverter with a Felicity 5kWh lithium battery?
Yes! A 3.5KVA 24V or 48V inverter pairs excellently with a 5kWh Felicity lithium battery, provided the DC terminal voltages match.
4. How many solar panels do I need to charge a 5kWh Felicity lithium battery?
You need roughly 4 to 6 units of 550W mono solar panels (2.2kW to 3.3kW solar array) to fully charge a 5kWh battery during 3 to 5 peak sunshine hours in Nigeria.
5. What is the difference between a 24V 5kWh and a 48V 5kWh Felicity lithium battery?
Both store 5,000 watt-hours of total energy. However, the 48V version operates at lower current (Amps) for the same wattage, resulting in less cable heat, higher electrical efficiency, and better compatibility with large 5KVA/10KVA hybrid inverters.
6. Will running a water pumping machine damage my 5kWh lithium battery?
No. Felicity LiFePO4 batteries feature high continuous discharge ratings (up to 100A), allowing them to start and run 0.5HP to 1HP water pumps without tripping BMS protection.
7. Can I add another 5kWh Felicity lithium battery later?
Yes. Felicity LPBF and FLA batteries allow you to connect up to 6 units in parallel to expand your system capacity to 10kWh, 15kWh, or 30kWh whenever your budget allows.
8. Does a Felicity 5kWh lithium battery require water top-ups or maintenance?
No. Unlike lead-acid or tubular batteries, lithium batteries are 100% sealed, maintenance-free, and emit no toxic fumes or corrosive acid spills.
9. What warranty comes with a Felicity 5kWh lithium battery?
Standard original Felicity lithium batteries bought from accredited distributors like Nature Solar Global Limited come with a 3 to 5-year manufacturer warranty.
10. Where can I buy original Felicity lithium batteries in Lagos?
